If you’re looking for a French restaurant in Bangkok that serves high-quality ingredients at reasonable prices, then Alpea is a great choice. This newly opened restaurant is located on Sathorn Soi 10, making it an ideal option for a family outing or a get-together with friends.
Alpea is a restaurant that reflects Michelin-starred chef Arnaud Dunand Sauthier‘s passion for French cuisine and culture. With its unique interior designed like a warm and cozy chalet, Alpea feels like a home away from home. Chef Arnaud’s vision is to create a gourmet dining experience in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that transports guests to the heart of Savoie, France. At Alpea, he showcases the recipes and flavors of his childhood in Savoie and other regions of France. The restaurant offers simple and delicious cuisine that emphasizes high-quality ingredients.
I recently visited Alpea with my family, including our two kids, and we had a fantastic experience. Our children really enjoyed being able to share some of our dishes, and we were pleased to discover that food sharing is encouraged at Alpea, unlike in some other French restaurants. So, there’s no need to worry if you’re bringing your family along – Alpea is an excellent option for a family-friendly dining experience.
During our visit to Alpea, we ordered several dishes that were outstanding and worth trying. If you’re not familiar with French cuisine, don’t hesitate to chat with the service team, who can recommend dishes that suit your taste. Additionally, if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies, be sure to inform the team, as they will find solutions to accommodate your needs. The service team at Alpea is always ready to help, so don’t hesitate to ask for their recommendations.
Oysters from Utah Beach in France are considered to be some of the best in the world, known for their briny and slightly sweet taste, as well as their crisp and clean finish. During our visit to Alpea, we had the pleasure of enjoying this delicacy paired with a glass of Savoie’s legendary wine. It was truly a delightful experience.

Péla ‘Des Aravis’ is a traditional dish from the Aravis mountain region in France, known for its hearty and comforting qualities. This dish is cooked to perfection, and it brings back fond memories of cold winter days spent skiing in France with family. The dish is so delicious and hearty that it reminds us of those special times when we shared fun and love.
The Cheese Fondue Ravioli with Consommé and Herbs was a delightful surprise for us. It was our first time trying this dish, and we were impressed with its decadent flavor and soft texture. The consommé soup was also perfectly made, and it complemented the dish beautifully. Overall, it was an outstanding culinary experience that we highly recommend.
The Brittany Turbot with Yellow Wine Sabayon is a standout dish, featuring a delicate and flavorful fish served with a rich and creamy sauce made from yellow wine. The generous spoonful of yellow wine sabayon adds a luxurious touch to the dish, which may be finished with a sprinkle of fresh herbs. The combination of the turbot and the rich creaminess of the sauce creates a truly sophisticated and memorable dining experience that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Gratin de crozets Savoyard is a classic dish from the Savoie region of France that features small, square-shaped pasta called crozets baked in a rich and creamy sauce. The pasta is made from buckwheat flour, which gives them a slightly nutty flavor and a dense texture that holds up well in the creamy sauce. The dish is typically served with melted cheese and cooked until al dente. My son is a big fan of this hearty and comforting dish due to its rich and creamy texture and deeply satisfying flavor.
The Alpea Burger with Potato Bun Fondue and Mushroom Ketchup is a delectable and indulgent dish that merges the classic elements of a burger with rich and flavorful toppings. At most places, parents often feel guilty when their children request burgers, but not here. The blend of top-notch ingredients and tasty toppings make this dish a highlight of the menu.
The Wagyu A4 Beef Chateaubriand is an exceptional beef dish that features a highly marbled cut of meat with a rich and tender texture, and a distinctive buttery flavor. This thick cut of tenderloin is known for its tenderness and mild taste. The dish is served with a luscious and flavorful sauce, making it a true indulgence that showcases the perfect combination of high-quality beef and expert cooking techniques. This dish has easily become one of my favorites, and I can’t wait to come back and order it again.
Profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and hot chocolate that is both decadent and delicious. The hot chocolate sauce is generously drizzled over the profiteroles, creating an indulgent dessert that is sure to please any chocolate lover. My kids, like everyone, love chocolate. Honestly, it helped us cool down after a big lunch on a hot Bangkok summer day. The rich chocolate sauce creates a complex and satisfying flavor and texture that is both comforting and indulgent. Please let me know if you have any further concerns!
Grand Marnier Soufflé with Vanilla Ice Cream is a classic French dessert. However, making a perfect soufflé is not an easy task. But here, it rose perfectly in the cup, and the taste was incredibly soft, smooth, light, airy, and full of flavor. It was a remarkable experience.
Overall, Alpea is definitely on the top of my list for comfortable French cuisine and pastry. It has a casual atmosphere, and you don’t need to dress up to enjoy a meal there. We even ended our afternoon by buying deli items to fill up our refrigerator, including some delicious bread. Since our visit last week, my kids can’t stop talking about their experience at the restaurant, and we can’t wait to go back again.
